So we here at the Hater are very excited to announce the lineup for this year’s Hater Brunch, which will be taking place at Little Woodrow’s on West 6th in downtown Austin, Saturday March 16th, during the SXSW Music Festival.
It’s a daytime event, starting at Noon, and going until we’re done with the music. The idea behind the event is to provide a place for the weary festival-goer to get their head together for Saturday Night’s festivities by having some cheap drinks, Bloody Mary’s & grub, a place for both up-and-coming and established artists, labels, reps, bloggers, radio cats, podcasters, etc. to all mingle and mix it up, and provide an escape from the overwhelming madness of the festival for the artist and music fan alike to come kick it and hear some good tunes.
I feel that I’ve put together one of the best lineups I could muster that represents both our commitment to the independent artist, the fans, and the original spirit of the SXSW Festival, which was to present an alternative arena for new, independent music. The show is FREE. No lists, no wristbands, no badges, no text message RSVPs, no opportunistic elitism. Just an ill-ass show at a chill bar, close enough to the action to not be an inconvenience, and just far enough out of the maelstrom to provide an oasis of respite during a crazy fucking time.
So without further ado, in no particular order, here’s who we got rocking the Hater Brunch this year:
OPEN MIKE EAGLE
WRECKING CREW (Curly Castro, Has-Lo & Zilla Rocca)
CULT FAVORITE (AM Breakups & Elucid)
RIDERS AGAINST THE STORM
CARS & TRAINS
